DAY 1

Journey from your home station to Alnmouth and, on arrival, we will make our way to the White Swan Hotel, our hotel for the next three nights. We enjoy free time to explore our new surroundings before meeting for our first evening meal together.

DAY 2

This morning, we visit Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and Distillery, where we enjoy an immersive journey through Northumbria's Golden Age and discover the story of the ancient Anglo Saxon Royal Court ahead of a fascinating guided distillery tour and tasting. Afterwards, we continue to the 13th-century, Grade I-listed Chillingham Castle, widely regarded as Britain's most haunted castle rich in history and legendary battles. Here, we enjoy a guided tour gaining an insight into its turbulent past, with centuries of history and ghost stories sure to send a chill down your spine. We will also have time to explore the formal gardens at leisure or enjoy lunch in the Minstrels Tea Room before returning to the hotel in time for our evening meal.

DAY 3

After breakfast, we make our way to Alnwick Castle, one of England's finest medieval castles and the ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland. We will discover the magnificent State Rooms, learn about the beautiful interiors, and hear the stories of the castle on our guided tour before enjoying a delicious afternoon tea. Afterwards, we will visit The Alnwick Garden, a unique and contemporary garden, where we enjoy time to stroll through the traditional Ornamental and mesmerising Rose Gardens before we explore the perils of the Poison Garden on a guided tour.

DAY 4

After breakfast, we bid farewell to Alnwick and make our way to Alnmouth Station for our homeward journeys.
