Here, we visit the Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre, the first operational military airfield in Great Britain, and dedicated to aviation history dating back over 100 years. After our fascinating visit, we transfer back to Pitlochry by coach in time for our evening meal.
B, DDAY 3
After breakfast this morning, we can enjoy exploring the picture-postcard town of Pitlochry which boasts Queen Victoria as one of its original visitors. Here, we enjoy a return steam excursion from Aviemore to Broomhill on the preserved section of the Highland Line known as the Strathspey Steam Railway passing through woods and alongside the meandering River Spey on a nostalgic journey. We return to Pitlochry by rail in time for an early evening meal ahead of our visit to the magnificent Faskally Wood to experience the spectacular Enchanted Forest, Scotland's premiere light and sound experience set amidst a stunning woodland wonderland.
