Norfolk Steam

DAY 1

Journey from your home station to Norfolk and, on arrival, we will make our way to the Links Country Park Hotel, our hotel for the next four nights. We enjoy free time to explore our new surroundings before meeting for our first evening meal together.

DAY 2

After breakfast, we travel by road to Dereham for the Mid-Norfolk Railway steam gala with visiting engines and additional activity plus a steam-hauled ride through the beautiful countryside with picturesque views to Wymondham Abbey and return. Afterwards, we continue by coach to Aylsham for a steam journey on the Bure Valley Railway following the meandering River Bure through meadowland and ancient pasture. We return to the hotel and enjoy our evening meal together.

DAY 3

Today, we visit Bressingham Steam & Gardens to experience the glorious sights, smells, and sounds of the steam age. With four different railway journeys to choose from including miniature and standard gauge, we can explore the fantastic gardens by climbing aboard a fabulous steam engine. This afternoon, we travel to the rarely visited and recently extended Mid-Suffolk Light Railway where we can explore their depot and enjoy a nostalgic journey before returning to the hotel in time for our evening meal together.

DAY 4

This morning, we travel by train to Sheringham to visit the North Norfolk Railway and ride the famed Poppy Line along the scenic coast to Weybourne and through the heathland to Holt in traditional carriages hauled by a vintage steam locomotive on one of the country's most scenic heritage railway lines. On arrival at Holt, our private coach transfers us to Wells-next-the-Sea for a steam ride on the Wells & Walsingham Railway with time to look at the historic harbour and narrow streets of this small town before we retrace our steps back to the hotel in time for our final evening meal together.

DAY 5

After breakfast, we bid farewell to Norfolk and make our way to the station for our homeward journeys.
