Amiens, Arras & Chantilly at Christmas

DAY 1

Travelling by Eurostar from London St Pancras to Lille, then onwards to Amiens and our hotel for three nights, the Moxy Hotel, where we check in and unpack. Afterwards, we embark on a guided walking tour of the city visiting the highlights including the magnificent Notre Dame d'Amiens Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the charming Saint-Leu Quarter, renowned for its picturesque canals, half-timbered house, and waterside cafés. We enjoy our first evening meal together at a local restaurant.

DAY 2

After breakfast this morning, we travel by rail to Arras with free time to explore this historic city, discover the fabulous Squares, or relax in the quaint cafés. We can also visit the enchanting Christmas Market where the heart of Arras is transformed into a fairytale village with sparkling chalets and festive treats. We return to Amiens for an evening at leisure where we can soak in the festive atmosphere of the Amiens Christmas Market, stroll the stalls full of crafts and gifts, and sample a brilliant selection of warming, festive food and drink. We can also experience the spectacular Chroma Light Show where stunning projections recreate the cathedral's original medieval colours and bring its remarkable façade vividly to life.

DAY 3

Today, our private coach takes us to Chantilly where we visit the iconic Château de Chantilly, beautifully decorated for the festive season. Here, we will tour the château, learning of its history aa we discover the art galleries, suites, and extensive library ahead of our lunch together in the restaurant. This afternoon, we will attend the château's acclaimed Christmas-themed equestrian show in the Great Stables combining fantastic horsemanship, music, and festive storytelling before returning to Amiens for our final evening meal together.

DAY 4

We bid farewell to Amiens and to France, returning by rail to Lille, where we will join the Eurostar service to London St Pancras.
