DAY 1

Travelling by Eurostar from London St Pancras to Brussels, then onwards to Nuremberg and our hotel for three nights, the Ibis Hotel, where we check in and enjoy our first evening at leisure to explore our new surroundings.

DAY 2

After breakfast, we board the 'Oberfranken Express', a thrilling double headed main line steam special hauled by 01 066 and 01 180 (awaiting confirmation) for a spectacular three hour run to the German Steam Locomotive Museum at Neuenmarkt Wirsberg. During our visit, we enjoy a ride behind steam up the famous 'Schiefe Ebene', a challenging 1:40 incline and engineering marvel, plus time to explore the museum's impressive collection of over 30 steam locomotives, with the steam worked narrow gauge railway also in operation. We complete our day with a return steam-hauled mainline journey behind the two impressive Class 01 Pacifics back to Nuremberg for an evening at leisure.

DAY 3

Today, we make our way to the idyllic town of Ebermannstadt for our steam-hauled journey on the Frankische Schweiz Railway through the beautiful, unique landscape of the Wiesenttal to Behringersmuhle. This afternoon, we retrace our steps and visit the DB Museum in Nuremberg, the oldest railway museum in Germany with the largest collection of historic trains, where we enjoy a guided tour through two centuries of railroad history including legendary vehicles and interactive exhibitions.

DAY 4

We bid farewell to Nuremberg and to Germany, returning by rail to Brussels, where we will join the Eurostar service to London St Pancras.
